These terms and conditions of sale govern the short-term rentals offered by Les Gîtes du Randonneur. Every booking implies their unreserved acceptance.
These terms apply to the furnished seasonal rental of the unusual accommodations presented on this website, to the exclusion of any other service. They prevail over any other terms appearing in a customer document, save prior written agreement. They form an indivisible whole with the cancellation policy and the privacy policy, to which they refer.
A booking request submitted on this website does not constitute a confirmation. The contract is formed only upon receipt of our written confirmation, sent by email, and payment of the deposit where one is required. The customer guarantees the accuracy of the information provided when booking; they must be of legal age and have the capacity to contract.
Prices are stated in euros, per night and per accommodation. A single night is charged at a flat rate; from two nights onwards, a degressive rate applies to each night of the stay. Prices include provision of the accommodation and ordinary utilities. They exclude the tourist tax, set by the local authority and charged in addition, as well as optional services and personal consumption.
A deposit may be requested at the time of booking; its amount and due date appear on the deposit invoice sent to you. The balance falls due no later than the day of arrival, according to the terms stated in the confirmation. Failure to pay the deposit within the stated period automatically cancels the booking.
Cancellation and modification conditions are set out on a dedicated page, which forms an integral part of these terms and conditions. Any cancellation must be notified in writing and takes effect on the date that notification is received.
Arrival and departure times are stated on each accommodation's page and in the booking confirmation. Late arrival must be announced in advance. Failing prior notice, a customer who does not arrive within twenty-four hours of the scheduled arrival date is deemed to have cancelled their stay, with no refund.
Each accommodation is let for the maximum number of people stated on its page. That number may not be exceeded, even temporarily, for safety and insurance reasons. The owner may refuse access to additional people without compensation or refund.
A security deposit may be requested on arrival. It is returned on departure, after inspection, less the cost of any damage found and any missing items. Its return does not preclude a further claim where the loss established exceeds its amount.
The accommodation is let for temporary residential use only. Any commercial activity, subletting or assignment is prohibited. The customer undertakes to respect the peace of the neighbourhood and the natural environment of the site. Equipment involving open fire must be used strictly in accordance with the instructions given on arrival. Smoking inside the accommodations is prohibited.
Bringing a pet is subject to prior agreement and must be declared when booking. An undeclared animal may result in refusal of access or termination of the stay without refund.
The customer declares that they hold public liability insurance covering any damage they may cause during their stay. It is their responsibility to check the extent of their cover, in particular the holiday-rental clause of their home insurance policy.
The owner cannot be held liable for theft, loss or damage affecting the customer's personal belongings, nor for the consequences of force majeure or an interruption of external utility networks. The accommodations are located in open countryside: the customer remains responsible for their own safety and for that of the people in their care, in particular minors.
In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services supplied on a specific date or for a specific period. No withdrawal is therefore possible once a booking is confirmed; only the cancellation conditions apply.
The processing of personal data collected when booking is described in our privacy policy, to which these terms refer.
In accordance with Article L612-1 of the French Consumer Code, the customer may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator with a view to the amicable resolution of a dispute, having first sent a written complaint that has remained unanswered to their satisfaction within two months. The competent mediator is: to be completed.
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties will endeavour to reach an amicable solution before taking any legal action. Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction under the rules of ordinary law.
